These days, we are finding more and more evidence to support the idea that many of our precious furry friends need grain-free and gluten-free dog food. We dove into the world of grain and gluten-free food when our own sweet pooch, Kona, was found to be gluten intolerant.
Once we switched to a potato-free and grain-free diet, his quality of life improved drastically, and that was one of the main reasons why we founded Naked Dog Bistro and began creating our own fresh, small-batch dog food.
Certainly, some dogs do fine on a diet that includes grains, but so often pet food contains low-quality grain and fillers rather than whole nutrients that truly support the health of your dog. Check the ingredient list on many canned dog foods and kibbles and you’ll find a long list containing many items you probably can’t even pronounce. These include preservatives and chemicals that aren’t beneficial for your dog and often can do more harm than good.
We use only the best organic fresh ingredients for our human-grade dog food. For instance, our Bark-B-Que Beef variety is made from fresh ground beef with a hint of tomato paste and molasses for flavor. We also add whole oats for texture, and spinach, carrots and zucchini for color and flavor.
Additional varieties include Paw Lickin’ Chicken, Irish Lamb Stew, Lean Lickin’Pork, Beef Pot Roast, Wild Salmon and Herby Turkey. Not only is a fresh, organic diet an excellent idea for many dogs, they absolutely love eating our food. Some Thoughts About COVID
To be honest, we think the whole quarantine situation has been more difficult for us humans than our furry companions. In fact, most dogs are probably basking in the joy of having their humans staying at home.
Still, if you have an anxious pooch or perhaps an older dog suffering from joint pain or arthritis, we also sell treats infused with CBD as well as organic CBD oil. These treats and oils can help soothe an anxious pet or reduce any discomfort related to aging or other health conditions. They also can help dogs that suffer from allergies.
As for our storefront, we are fortunate to once again be opening our doors with a few restrictions in place. Our employees will be wearing face masks and will be asking our guests to wear face masks, as well as observing proper social distancing. Of course, there will be plenty of cleaning and disinfecting, as well, for the safety of our staff, our human guests and our furrier guests.
