Whether you are a local searching for a pet store in Laguna Beach or a visitor to our fair village by the sea, Naked Dog Bistro is a perfect place to find all you need for your furry companion. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the fun and helpful items we keep in stock throughout the year, many of which we can ship anywhere in the country.
1. Organic Dog Treats & Fresh Dog Food
The Naked Dog Bistro is first and foremost Laguna Beach’s premier dog bakery! We bake homemade dog treats, dog cakes and prepare fresh dog food every day from scratch right here in the Naked Dog Bistro kitchen.
All of our recipes are grain-free and gluten-free, and we always use the finest organic ingredients. On a typical day, you’ll find dog treats such as doggie donuts, dog cupcakes, dog sushi and, one of our most popular items, our doggie French fries. With a few days’ notice, we can create a custom dog cake for any special dog occasion.
If you do live local and want to provide your pooch with homemade dog food, we offer fresh dog food in several delicious flavors. Our gluten-free and grain-free dog food is prepared using organic ingredients with no preservatives. We even offer a free local dog food delivery service anywhere in Laguna Beach.
2. CBD For Dogs
CBD is not just for humans! This cannabis compound has been shown to help alleviate allergies, joint pain, arthritis and even help reduce anxiety in dogs. We make our own CBD dog treats and CBD in-house at our pet store in Laguna Beach. All of our CBD products are low in THC and contain 0.3% THC or less. If you have an anxious pooch or perhaps an older pooch that has a bit of trouble getting around, CBD might be a beneficial supplement to consider.
3. Helpful Supplies
As a pet store in Laguna Beach, we offer many boutique items to help pamper your pet, but we also stock many helpful items. In addition to our food, treats and CBD, we also have grooming supplies, dog bowls and training tools. We can serve as your one-stop-shop for many of your pet’s daily needs. We also recommend that you take a look at our Resources page, which includes information about local veterinarians, dog trainers, pet sitters & boarding, dog parks and more.
4. Dog Apparel
While we sell an assortment of dog hats, bandanas, sweaters and shirts, lately, our Hawaiian shirts have been a big hit. We also have some fun dog dresses with tutus that look adorable, and, if you have an anxious pooch, we also carry the ThunderShirt anti-anxiety wrap in several sizes. Naturally, we also have an assortment of attractive collars, leashes and harnesses to suit any dog’s tastes.
5. Dog Accessories & Toys
Every good dog deserves some fun toys, and we have a little something for every dog. For the posh pet, we have a selection of plush “Chewy Vuitton” and “Barkin” handbag squeaky toys. For the dog that believes “ball is life,” we have many several varieties of balls ideal for a quick game of fetch. Of course, we also sell some amazing dog beds in many colors and styles. We sell carrier bags and carrier slings, perfect for those tiny dogs.
4 Fun Things You & Your Pet Can Do Together in Laguna Beach
There are plenty of reasons to visit Laguna Beach. The shops, the galleries, the restaurants, the beach and the beautiful architecture provide enough charm for even the pickiest tourist. Even better, we are one of the dog-friendliest towns in Orange County, and there’s plenty for you and your furry friend to do during a visit in addition to a visit to our pet store in Laguna Beach, of course!
1. Hit The Beach
Did you know that most of the beaches in Laguna Beach allow dogs? During the busy summer season (June-September) dogs are not allowed between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., but they are allowed before and after those hours. In the off-season, dogs are allowed at any time. While you do need to keep your furry companion leashed, most dogs absolutely love sniffing around the rocks or dipping a paw in the water.
2. Enjoy A Doggie Kayak Adventure
Laguna Beach is the perfect spot for kayaking and paddleboarding, and many people pop a life vest on their dog and head out into the sea. Laguna Beach offers miles of stunning coastline, most of which is a protected marine reserve. There are many coves with gentle waves perfect for casting off, but if you are a bit timid about taking your dog out into the open ocean, consider driving to Dana Point Harbor and trying out kayaking or paddleboarding in the harbor’s calm waters.
3. Grab A Gourmet Meal
Laguna Beach has an abundance of great restaurants, many of which offer al fresco dining and pets are allowed at many outdoor tables. More than a dozen restaurants allow well-behaved dogs on their patio, but we do recommend that you call ahead to ask, especially on weekends and during the busy tourist season as there may be limited spaces available.
4. Hike & Enjoy The View
Laguna Beach offers many amazing hiking options, and leashed dogs are welcome on most of these trails. Hiking with dogs in Laguna is always a good idea if the weather isn’t too hot. We usually have a nice ocean breeze, but we don’t recommend taking Fido in hot weather and we always do recommend that you bring some water for your dog.
As a word of caution, our trail areas are home to many creatures, including rattlesnakes and scorpions and, often at dusk and dawn, coyotes, so be on the lookout for these creatures and stay on-trail with your dog at all times. Many dog owners in California opt for a rattlesnake vaccine for their pooch, but there is also rattlesnake aversion training for dogs to help protect them, and this can be a great idea for any avid hiker who wishes to bring along their dog often.
Of course, hiking (or walking) around downtown Laguna Beach also can be a wonderful adventure. Our town boasts many historic homes and buildings as well as many hidden spots where you can enjoy an ocean view. Heisler Park, for instance, offers stunning views and you can even grab a margarita or two at Las Brisas (they are one of several dog-friendly eateries and allow dogs on their patio).
We hope this entices you to come and visit our pet store in Laguna Beach as well as spending some time in our village, in general. Come on by, grab some dog treats or fresh dog food and bring your furry friend. Naked Dog Bistro is located at 424 Forest Avenue, just around the corner from Lumberyard restaurant, which, by the way, also allows dogs on their patio.
